Hispanic students who attend Southeast middle school are celebrating Hispanic heritage month from Sep. 15th to Oct 15.

Itzyah said that she thinks more people should know about hispanic heritage month because of the amazing things hispanic people do.
Hispanic heritage month celebrates important people and the importance of hispanic culture.
Some important hispanic people are Rafael Edward Cruz and Sonia Maria Sotomayor.
Sonia Maria Sotomayor is a Hispanic lawyer and judge in the supreme court in the United States. She is the first Hispanic justice and the third woman to serve in the supreme court.
Rafael Edward Cruz is a Hispanic politician and attorney in junior United States senator in Texas. He chaired the Senate Commerce Committee.
Rafael Edward Cruz and Sonia Maria Sotomayor are celebrated because they did important things such as fight for law sues as well as they also play a big role in their courts.
Hispanic heritage month is important because everyone should know about hispanic culture and about the different cultures. Southeast is made up of many different hispanic cultures such as Salvadoran, Guatemalan, Mexican and more.
Most students said that their favorite thing about being hispanic is the yummy food such as tacos and tamales.
