The moment they saw an ipad enter the classroom the students wanted to get interviewed, the class immediately raised their hands. However, after the word AI users came out the entire class became silent as they did not want to be caught for using AI for any classes.
Sometimes the teacher would laugh and say come on go as they know the students will be caught.
Afterwards, some students yelled at their friends. Eventually, the entire class became a war zone as the students kept on pointing at others or yelling their names.
The teacher just sits there watching until they settle on one person while I stand there and watch as they keep going.
At the end, a teacher volunteers to be interviewed and they begin by mentioning how many students were caught.
“I have caught three students per class using AI. The students got caught when I asked questions or did CER,” said Mr. Hernandez, history teacher.
When the teacher saw what was going on they just waited for a while. The teacher enjoyed how some students looked scared at being caught and panicking on who to choose.
Eventually when the students don’t choose they either pick a stick or just choose a random student. In some classes, some students will raise their hand and will still keep it raised after the mention of AI.
Katherine Bazas, a DREAMS 7th Grader said that she had used AI in English class and had to redo the assignment again. The English assignment was hard to do and she didn’t understand a thing.
The students mentioned using Google AI, Gauth AI, Chat GPT and different AI’s. The students mentioned these AI’s because it helped them with saving time to play games rather than sitting there to complete something that seems impossible.
Some students say that they like it because they don’t need to strain their minds to get the answer when the AI is just sitting there helping them with no effort even if some answers are wrong.
The students say that they used AI in certain classes and that 75% of teachers don’t catch the students using AI but very little, about 25%, caught a lot of students using AI in their classes.
