From May 11 to 15, students participated in SBA spirit week.
Spirit week is a designated week that usually leads up to an event where students and staff participate in themed dress up days.
Monday was Black Out Distractions where students had to wear black. Tuesday was Shine Bright students had to wear neon color clothing. Wednesday was Wise Mind (dress like a smartie pants) Thursday was Throwback Thursday (wear your favorite era 2000’s 90’s 80’s 70’s) and Friday was Rest Maters where students wore pajamas.
8th grader Ramiro Garcia said “I participated because I like to wear black clothes and it was my opportunity to wear black”
8th grader Samantha Ramirez said she participated in Rest Matters because she wanted to wear her pajamas.
7th grade Leadership student Emma Sanchez stated that they chose SBA spirit week because students have started SBA testing and they wanted to have students to have a fun activity to participate in.
Students who participate in SBA spirit week earn points for the schools spirit competition this semester.
The 8th graders are currently winning with 275 points. 7th grade is in 2nd place and 6th grade is in 3rd. The winners will get a field day.
