In America, many people like peanut butter due to how affordable it is, its unique flavor, and how it can be eaten by itself or paired with other foods.
In other places peanut butter is not available, whether it be because they have none of the resources or it can’t be shipped there.
The reason for the invention of peanut butter was because some people couldn’t eat hard or chewy foods, and had dental problems.
The original inventor of peanut butter is not known but the earliest references of peanut butter can trace back to the ancient Incas and Aztecs that would roast peanuts and make it into a paste.
Eighth grader Robert Soto exclaimed how much he enjoyed peanut butter: “A million times yes! I love peanut butter because it’s the best thing on earth. It tastes amazing, [especially] the crunchy peanut butter.”
Sixth grader Kimberly Diaz said “I like peanut butter because it tastes good, and it’s good on some things.”
Peanut butter can go on, bread, cookies, apples and celery, ice cream, smoothies and other desserts.
However not everyone likes peanut butter.
Seventh grader Guadalupe Ruiz said “I don’t like it because it tastes nasty, I don’t like the texture of it.”
Peanut butter has a thick consistency which people may not enjoy, it can also get stuck in their teeth and mouth
Some people don’t like it because it tastes weird but others don’t like it or even have an opinion on it because they are allergic and can’t have it.
Seventh grader Oliver Estrada said “I am allergic to peanuts and my throat swells up and my body gets like red dots. If I wasn’t allergic I would try peanut butter on bread”
When someone gets an allergic reaction their immune system thinks that a harmless substance is dangerous and activates its defenses causing a reaction.
If someone gets an allergic reaction, call 911 immediately and look for an EpiPen. However It depends on what type of allergic reaction they get to help them.
