The 5K
SRLA runners ran the 5k at Dodger Stadium Sept 27. The 5k is 3 miles and there were a lot of hills.
“It was pretty hard because the hills were really up and so that was challenging when you were going up because your legs get tired,” said Oliver Estrada, seventh grader.
Not everybody thought the race was hard.
Kenny Terrazas, a returner runner, said running the race wasn’t hard and was easy, because they have been practicing since last year. He ran the marathon last year so he thought it was easy.
Mr Zamudio, the coach that ran the 5k, said it wasn’t hard because the team in SRLA trained before the race, the hills were a bit difficult in the race, and for the most part everyone did well.
The 10k
SRLA runners ran the 10k on Oct 26 in La Puente Main Street, and it was 6.2 miles. One again there was a big hill in the beginning
“The 10k was fun because I got to run with my friend, we had fun and we all stopped for each other. It was hard and easy at the same time because in the beginning my legs were hurting because of the hills.” Natalie Hernandez, eighth grader, said.
The upcoming race is the 15k and its 9 miles at Woodley Park on Nov 16.
