How did students feel about political activist Charlie Kirk and his passing?
Student Rebecca Castillo said, “I feel like he was weird. I mean he said weird stuff about his daughter, I think honestly he was a bad person in general.”
Other students didn’t really know much about him, or didn’t really care about him.
Seventh grade DREAMS student Aiden Rodiguez said, “I feel very vague, I don’t really know much about him. But I did hear about him passing. He spoke truths, and I’d say he was very noble. At the time of the same time I didn’t really know about him.”
Lucio Alvarez, an eighth grader in DREAMS said, “I feel like it’s a big impact for me and many people. It’s really sad but I don’t really care. I think he had his own beliefs and I mean everyone has their own beliefs.”
Even though all the students had different opinions on Kirk himself, they all had spoken on how his passing seemed uncalled for and even unnecessary.
Students should know about events like this so they can stay up to date with how the political view is in the country they live in. It’s important for everyone to be aware of how politics and the way their country works or is running for their safety. So they know what they can and can’t do, they’re restrictions and freedoms.
