On Nov 11, 2025, the Volleyball tournament officially started, starring students as the players.
Every Tuesday and Thursday the games took place at the Gym, and the games quickly became one of the most talked-about events among students. Students looked forward to game days.
Osvaldo Coyazo, a player on Nuggets said, “The reason why I joined the volleyball tournament is that I joined in 6th and 7th grade so I thought I would this year also with a new team, and I think me and my team would win the championship game.”
Then a referee Alfredo Munguia said, “I think the biggest thing for a tournament is the kids being able to play and have fun while doing so and together.”
Even students who do not normally care about sports watched the volleyball games, especially the most favorite team, Tortanation.
The players improved a lot as the tournament went on. At the beginning, students did not really know how to communicate, but toward the end, students communicated more clearly and made plays. People practiced a lot, because the players got better overtime.
Setting up the tournament challenged the people setting it up for many reasons such as getting the students into a team and them able to play without injury or anything of such.
Munguia also said, “Being the person who makes sure everything runs smoothly is a big process in regards to scheduling the teams and when they play.”
UPDATE (Dec. 18) GOATS won the championship over the Nuggets with a score of 2 for the GOATS and 0 for the Nuggets.
