South Gates Annual Art Walk became one of the newer events being held in the city. This year is the third annual event with the first one happening back in 2021. According to the art walk team, “The city had newly hired a Cultural Arts Coordinator in late 2019 but then the pandemic hit. Then in 2021 when the pandemic was at a lower risk the planning for the first Art Walk began.”

At the Art Walk, you’ll find local artists and showcasers coming together to share not only their art, but their stories with the community. Happening at the South Gate Museum, some of the fun mini-planned events include the opening of a time capsule, art activities, and a group exhibit!
I actually went to the Art Walk this year. They had mini booths with people just showcasing and selling their art and products.
It was a very wholesome experience. There were also plenty of food vendors with loads of variety to appease any type of person. I really enjoy buying from small businesses because I know I’m doing a good thing to support people trying to start out something big. If that is something you like, then I 1000% recommend it!
After going to the Art Walk I can say with certainty that you should visit it next year.
