When interviewed, students all had the same perspectives: they found the Yondr pouches entirely useless.
All the students mention that the Yondr pouches waste money. One particular student had said that instead of buying yondr pouches, money could have been used for field trips instead.
“I feel like they’re kinda dumb like I mean what’s the point of them when you’re already not using your phone in class,” Dorian Vedder, eighth grader said.
The teachers actually agreed with the students and saying that the money should’ve been used for the field trips or some more programs while a few teacher says that the Yondr pouches has actually helped them teach their class since students don’t have their phones out.
“I think the Yondr pouches are useful especially to stop the drama with the phones because they like to record and years past when they liked to record themselves and talk smack about each other and that’s gone down a lot at least in my classroom.” said Ms. Avalos, sixth math and science teacher.
Despite students saying they disagreed with the Yondr pouches, they do leave their phones in the Yondr pouches. The students only do this because they do not want their phones taken away.
While the students who said they dislike the Yondr pouches they do not argue that the Yondr pouches are entirely useless to them.
“The Yondr pouches are useful because it can keep you focused and away from any types of distractions,” said Helen Pealonares.
