On April 22 every year, more than a billion people celebrate Earth Day to protect our planet.
Alexa Esparza, an eighth grader in DREAMS said, “I recycle cans and glass bottles and get money out of the cans”.
Recycling helps the environment and helps save energy. When people recycle they receive payment. Payment could promote recycling and could help Earth.
Sebastian Rodriguez, a seventh grader in DREAMS said, “Sometimes I pick up trash in my neighborhood to make it look cleaner and recycle cans.”
Picking up trash helps plants, animals, humans and it also helps our environments look cleaner. It helps animals because they won’t eat any trash and cleaner habitat.
Leadership at Southeast started a recycling club, where the students give teachers bottles and every Friday goes to the PE teachers, the money goes SRLA end of the year banquet to buy snacks, water and other necessities
Madison Avalos, a seventh grader in SEMS, said “we started the club because we saw a lot of water bottles on the floor and the school looked kind of dirty , it helps the school look cleaner,… Give your water bottles to any teachers because it makes the school look less dirty.’’
Isaac Castellanos, an eight grader in DREAMS said “ I want to make a difference in the school and look cleaner. Always recycle your cans and don’t throw them in the trash or floor.”
