Since last year, the school added a rule that prevents students from going to the bathroom 10 minutes before or after the bell.
The rule may cause more of a problem this school year because they shorten class time, before classes had 85 minutes and now it is 55. This means they will have less time to go to the bathroom.
It affects students’ education on how much they have to go use the restroom and they stop paying attention to the class. The other problem is also that students will have to wait another 20 minutes for the first 10 minutes of the first class and the next 10 minutes for the next class.
Yohanies Rodrigo, eight grader, asked, “What if you’re in class before the 10 minutes and you really need to use it and you use the restroom on yourself?”
Most of the students wanted to change or take out the rule since it became a problem.
“I would at least change the rule to 2 minutes,” Rodrigo said.
Mr. Vertiz, campus aide said “It’s a rule because during passing periods there’s a lot of students so they don’t accidentally or on purpose close the door” and also for they don’t get stuck in there.
But Students can bypass this rule as Vertiz said, “If you really have to go because its an emergency then we will open it for you.”`
