In the 2nd semester of every school year, the fall awards ceremony happens. This year the school hosted the ceremony on February 2nd and it looks a bit different than past years.
This year, the school allowed parents to come to see their children receive their awards. During the past 2 years, parents have not joined their children during the recognition of their child because of COVID-19 and not wanting to risk people’s health.
We wanted to know people’s thoughts about their parents coming to see them on the fall awards day, so we asked around for people’s ideas and thoughts on the new permission that parents gained this year.
6th Graders Opinions:
Isaac D. a 6th Grader stated that it felt nice going to the award ceremony as he felt, “represented as a good student.” He also stated that having his parents there to present at that moment made him feel “like they cared” about him.
