From Jan. 24 to April 18 students attended the program saturday school from 8:00am to 12:pm.
Students attended this program because they needed help getting their grades up.
8th grader Samantha Ramirez said “[Saturday school] helps me catch up on missing work.”
In English students read articles by chosing between 3 articles and taking notes on the one they chose. They also analyzed images.
For Math students practice functions, multiplications and solving problems.
Teachers stated that they think saturday school helps students and they noticed learning improvements in students who show up to the program.
According to teachers and staff help out in Saturday school, the program does help students boost their learning. Students who attended saturday school did better in tests like iReady.
Ms. White-Holloman stated that the students who are in saturday school are meeting standards to become successful in math.
Saturday school also had raffle. Raffles give students a fun activities and so Saturday school is not just classwork.
