On Feb 14, Valentine’s day, students give Valentine’s baskets, snacks, and love for the people they like.
Most people who have someone for Valentine’s day like this day because of the love but some people really don’t like valentines because of past experience or they just don’t really like it.
“Valentine’s is not my favorite holiday because I had a really bad experience in high school, one time I had a boyfriend in high school, I got him a very nice gift and he didn’t give me anything” Ms. Sandoval, eighth grade counselor.
Students and staff may not like Valentine’s but they do have other holidays that they like.
Students took a survey on their favorite holiday, about 99 responses. Mostly everybody likes Christmas, with 62 people voting for it.
“I like getting presents and spending time with my family,” Javier Felix said about his favorite holiday, Christmas.
People might prefer Christmas because they get to spend time with family, have a good time and get presents for free. People also don’t really like Valentine’s day because people would feel lonely and not everyone has a Valentine’s.
The 2nd favorite holiday was Halloween with 22 people voting for it.
“[I like] Halloween because you get to dress up and get free candy,” Ms.Sandoval said.
Christmas and Halloween have something in common because they both like getting stuff like presents or candy.
In my opinion Christmas is my favorite holiday because I get to hang out with my family eat, and open presents.
