What do you do as a magnet coordinator?

One of the things I do during the year is  share information with 45 elementary schools that the students are coming from, and I help develop the school program, and add programs,  provide materials for teachers and for students, help plan events, and help with the scheduling, and then for students in 8th grade I work with the high schools to help them complete the application, and then in the spring, help with the acceptance and enrollment.

How long have you been working as a magnet coordinator?

A few years, so it’s been fun. Each year is a little different.

I have been working here for 21 years.

What subject did you use to teach?

I taught English, I taught history, Computer science.

How do you feel about this school year?

I think it’s going really well. The students are doing fine, performing well.

What college did you attend?

I went to Cal State Fullerton, University of Arizona and Cal State LA.

I’m from New York.

What made you want to work in a school?

I like helping people, seeing them do what they want to do and be successful.

What are some of your professional goals?

To help people be successful, to help them grow, to get them to try new things in classes. Try new subjects, To get them to be comfortable doing things and be able to do things for themselves.

What are 3 fun facts about you?

I can’t whistle, I miss playing ice hockey, And I like traveling.
