Food drives help the less fortunate by donating food when they need it. People created food drives, food pantries, and food banks for several reasons. For example, one can give the ability to get a feast during the holidays for the less fortunate.
People donate all kinds of food from short-term food to food that can last a lifetime. Only 23.6% percent of people who attend Southeast donate food to food banks, food pantries, or anywhere where you can donate food. The 23.6% of people who donate food mostly donate canned goods, fruits, vegetables, boxed foods, and bottled water.
The usage of food banks or food pantries has been used more and more over the years. Two years ago 53 million people relayed on food banks, food drives, and food pantries. 50% of adults who have children are more likely to rely on food banks, food pantries, and food drives.

Southeast Middle School held its own food drives that happen between November 2-13, you would turn in donations in Room 106. The Magnet coordinator, Mr Medina explained that it’s not clear on the exact number of people who donate but they do end up with enough food to donate to around ten families.
But this year at Southeast Middle School they were able to exceed the expectation of ten and they fed twelve families!
