What do you do?
I am a school psychologist here at Southeast Middle School and DREAMS Magnet
What advice would you give to the culminating class?
Find something you love and do it often
How many people do you help?
On a given day it depends but many students come by and say hi I have students that I see for counseling so it is hard to put a number on it but I see a lot of students!
What are the craziest parts about your job?
The craziest part of my job is to be able to juggle meetings, phone calls, emails, and meetings with students; just the day-to-day business of a large school.

What’s something you’ve done at this school that you’re proud of?
The fall presentations with the 8th graders where they get to present their findings to the 6th and 7th graders. It’s fun because the kids get to be pushed to do something they’re not always prepared for.
What inspired you to become a teacher?
The idea of addressing issues before they become an issue.
What goals do you have for the students at Southeast?
To grow as people, be good individuals, and push themselves beyond their limits in any shape, or form.
What would you change about the school?
How much time do you have? I would definitely change the division between DREAMS and SEMS. I feel like that division is something that continues to hurt our whole school because there’s an idea that one school is better than the other.

What’s something you’ve done at this school that you’re proud of?
I’m proud of the fact that I’m able to build relationships with my students and it just makes the school environment more inviting for them.
What inspired you to become a teacher?
I’ve always wanted to give back to my community.
What goals do you have for the students at Southeast?
I want them to be able to follow their passions.
What would you change about the school?
The way the school is built. I would like for the building to allow for the different grade levels to build a community.

What’s something you’ve done at this school that you’re proud of?
Creating connections with many students.
What inspired you to become a staff member?
I was a sports coach in the after-school program for a few years, tried something else, and I missed working with students and thankfully found this job.
What goals do you have for the students at Southeast?
To have the highest culmination percentage in the history of Southeast Middle.
What would you change about the school?
School uniform. Just kidding! I’m not sure if I would change anything because as you all with someday learn, in life there are always highs and lows so you just have to keep on pushing.
