On January 6 people celebrate Dia de los Reyes. On this day people, serve Rosca de Reyes or in English King’s Cake. The Rosca is an oval shaped bread decorated with dried and candied fruits symbolizes a crown.
This bread contains small doll(s), which represent baby Jesus being hidden from King Herod. When the baby gets found, the person that got the doll has to cook food for everyone involved in cutting the Rosca.
One teacher Mr. Negrete who teaches 8th grade robotics was interviewed about his thoughts on the tradition, he stated,¨ It’s cute, yeah I think it’s a nice tradition.¨
Ms. Avalos a 6th Grade SEMS teacher gave her opinion on this day as well, she mentioned that the day was a good

opportunity to spend time with her and her husband’s family.
8th grader Ethan Marroquin said that he, his sister, and his brother got the doll.
7th grader Sergio Sanchez gave a pretty similar response in the sense that he had gotten the baby. However he was the only one in his family to get the doll.
Overall one answer we received from everyone was that this day allowed their families to come together and have fun. This celebration gives families a chance to have a memorable day with each other.
