Students came up with different strategies with their teammates to win. These strategies consisted of trying to keep the ball and using teamwork. Many students lacked confidence about whether they were going to win or not. Although the losing teams felt bummed about losing, but they had a good attitude about it.
We interviewed a PE teacher and coach for the soccer tournament, Mr. Munguia. He firmly believes that communication with your team, being able to collaborate, and knowing whose role is whose can certainly help a team win. Mr. Munguia also states that the reason for us having this tournament is because it gets students involved with the school and students also enjoy doing sports.
Mr. Munguia also talked about how although students like to compete, he “tries to incorporate sportsmanship.” To do this, he teaches students to shake hands before and after games.
