8th Grade Reflections

We interviewed 8th graders about their craziest memories and how they felt about the year coming to an end and culminating.
Jasmine
Jasmine

Jasmine has done many crazy and exciting things this school year. She told us she ended up cutting one of her friend’s hair because her friend needed a haircut and because of boredom. She had her friend pierce her septum (a septum and a piercing that goes through the middle part of your nose) for her. It didn’t hurt that bad and it felt like a little pinch that it was manageable pain.

We ended our interview by asking her about how she felt about the end of the year coming up and how she felt about the culmination coming up and she said she was a little nervous and scared because she was moving schools and didn’t know what to expect. After all, she knows high school in general will be a more challenging environment to be in.

Linda

Linda on the other hand had a more relaxed and calm school year but she did tell us she did something unexpected this school year. When she was interviewed she told us that she had a relaxed school year and that she didn’t do much but go to school and do her work. She did mention that she had pierced her friend’s belly in a restroom. We asked her more about it and she told us that she did it on a random Wednesday because her friend had asked her to and she had agreed to do it. She ended up messing up and made a tad it crooked but it was barely notable and the friend wasn’t upset because she knew that it was so spontaneous and that she had no experience beforehand.

To end our interview we asked her how she felt about the culmination coming up and how the school year is about to end and she said she felt sab because this is my last year in middle school and my closest friends are going their separate ways and that she felt happy to culminate because she going to culminate with her friends.
