
Did you prepare for the test?
The school gave out the testing scheduled a week before we started the test did anyone prepare? DREAMS 8th grader Allisson Z. said, “No of course not.” DREAMS 7th grader Oscar said, “Nah, I didn’t prepare for it.” Fabien Gutierrez, a DREAMS 6th grader gave us a simple fast answer “Yes”. SEMS 8th grader Nathan Lopez followed his lead and gave a simple yes as well.
How did testing go? Hard, easy, long, boring?
We all have our own opinions about how the test went, some may have found it boring while others find it hard let’s see what students thought about it. Allisson said “English was easy and boring at the same time. Math was hard and boring and long.” Oscar said, “It was pretty long and boring and hard.” Fabien said, “It was long hard, and easy.” Nathan Lopez seemed to have similar opinions:“Long and boring.”
What did you dislike and like about I-Ready and do you prefer Renaissance?
While I-Ready is new not only to the staff but to the students but students, already have opinions on it. Allison only said what she liked: “I like I-Ready because of the brain breaks and I’m a try-hard at the game, pressing jump, tryna beat my high score from last time.” Oscar said “I like I-Ready, it’s pretty simple and I don’t dislike anything about I-Ready.” Nathan on the other hand only told us what he disliked about I-Ready: “It’s too long.”
You guys got The most improvement. How do you feel?
We also interviewed the kids that improved the most on how they felt about their improvement. Erick Martinez a SEMS 7 grader improved in math said “Great.” Brielle Bailey another SEMS 7th grader that improved in English told us how she felt about getting a high score. “I feel normal because they always said I had a high score in reading,” Estrella A. 8th grade SEMS student that improved in English said “ I feel good.”
