Makeup has impacted the childhood of young girls. The popularity has increased much more than expected and companies have made a lot of money over the years. Since the popularity of the brand Drunk Elephant has increased, the company has received a sky-rocketing amount of money.
Delilah, Jasmine, Ailyn, Ms. Perez, and Ms. Mayorga all between the ages 12-30, have said they have seen the kids at Sephora and have said that they should shop at Claire’s other than Sephora.“ I feel like they are too young but I’m not their parent’’, stated DREAMS 8th grader, Ailyn L.

Yes, they are little kids, but we have some parts to do with it. Social media plays a big influence on all of this. This problem exists because people are starting to promote and help give makeup a boost in popularity on such big platforms. Young children on these platforms watch these videos, fall for the influence, and start to buy such high-end products because of the known name, even though it could be really bad for their skin.
Some of these kids are giving an attitude to the workers because they aren’t getting what they want. Parents should take full accountability for their children’s actions, and teach their kids right from wrong, especially at this young age.
We need to do something about this because this problem is currently happening too much. The products being bought will soon harm the skin of these children once they become older because these products usually have a suggested age requirement. Sephora will possibly end up having to put an age limit to stop little kids from going into the store alone and buying products not meant for them.
Also, they are mixing products and knocking stuff down. We’re losing grip of the situation. We should do something, but I think the change has to start coming from the parents. The parents should do something to at least not have the kids yell at the employees. If they can teach them that then that is very good because it creates a solution starting with decency of respect.
