We wanted to find out how the students at Southeast Middle School felt coming back to school. Most of the students stated they were excited to come back or a bit excited. When DREAMS student Edward C. was asked if he was excited about coming back, he stated “Yes because I get to learn.” Another student excited to be back, Maryalice a 7th-grade DREAMS student stated “I’m excited to see my friends and pull my grade up.”
During winter break, students from SEMS and DREAMS in all grades did all kinds of things such as spending time with family, playing video games, and more. Alina, an 8th-grade DREAMS student says she didn’t do much and just stayed home and watched television. Another student named Arthur, an 8th-grade SEMS student stated “I went to the gym a lot, just focused on myself a bit more.”
Finally, we asked students if they think winter break should be longer or shorter. Jimena from 8th grade SEMS stated “Longer because I just needed to fix my sleep schedule.” Eddward also said winter break should’ve been shorter because we need to learn more.
