On Oct. 20th, 2024 SRLA participated in the 10K held at La Puente Main St. New and returning runner’s shared their experiences. This race challenged these runners looking at the intimidating course with a lot of obstacles to persevere through.
Returning runner Julie S. spoke about how she felt coming back and looking at our challenging course. She responded with, “ I don’t want to do it cause the hill, I hate the hill.” The same question to Jacob P., he answered with “I did do pretty bad last year, I got two hours.”
New runner Jamila V. spoke about how she felt running the 10K. She responded with, “ Good because I ran it on Saturday.” Another new runner Ramiro G., responded to the same question with, “ I don’t know, I want to go home, take a shower and sleep.”
This race introduced the beginning of SRLA´s medal series. Throughout the SRLA journey these runners will collect a series of medals collected at the end of each race. When we complete this journey they will connect completing a puzzle made throughout their journey.
