Last year, the SEMS 2023-2024 school year had a rotating schedule, with mondays rotating with odd or even, and the next days rotating.
Over summer break, the school decided to change the schedule.

Many seventh and eighth grade students became confused about the schedule, not knowing where to go or why lunch switched with homeroom.
We went around the school, asking seventh and eighth grade students their opinion on the schedule.
Kimberly, a seventh grader said that the new schedule confused them, and if they could change it, would revert it back to the old schedule.
Jacob, another seventh grader, says otherwise, stating that they preferred the new schedule, simply because he just liked having a class more.
Several students actually preferred the old schedule, rather than the new schedule, stating “It’s confusing”, “I don’t like having odd or even twice in a row”, or “I dislike having lunch second.”
Overall, the majority of the students liked and preferred the old schedule over the new one.
