Beginning Oct. 1st, National Book Month happens all throughout this month. The month of Oct. lets people all over the world connect with one another about their book interests.
Whether you choose a graphic novel, a fiction, or nonfiction book, all serve as a way to use your imagination.
Students mentioned they read “Fear Street”, “Tex”, “The Giver”, “Girl from the Sea”, “Shallow”, and “Trials of

Apollo”. Since some students attended English class, they told us a book they read in class such as “I Survived Nine-Eleven” and “House On Mango Street”.
Do You Like to Read?
Chloe Morales, an eighth grader answered with, “Yes, because it’s really fun and really incorporates your imagination in it.”
Another eighth grader, Vivian Eguia, responded with, “I like to see how characters develop throughout the story and the lessons you can learn.”
Jazmine Solis, a seventh grader, told us, “It’s like a movie but you’re reading it in your head.”
Brisa Aldana, a sixth grader said, “Yes, because in reading it lets you grow your imagination and I love it.”
Mikael Gezalyal, another sixth grader stated, “Yes, sometimes when I don’t have anything to do.”
Alejandro Leon, sixth grade, stated, “I don’t like to read because it’s boring. I was forced to read a book.”
Santos Montoyan in sixth grade said, “No, I just don’t like to read, mainly since it’s boring.”
Madison Avalos in sixth grade said, “No, it sucks.”
Stephanie Hernandez, sixth grade, told us, “No, I don’t know, I just don’t like reading.”
Finally, Aaron in eighth grade said, “Yes, it makes me feel, like, calm, and lets me zone out.”
How Often Do You Read?
People such as Chloe, Vivian, and Brisa said they read a lot, with Chloe saying, “I read a couple times a week, I have the ability to read one book in a day.”
Jazmine, Mikel, and Aaron told us they read a couple times a week. Meanwhile, students such as Alejandro, Santos, Madison, and Stephanie said they practically never read.
