On Sept. 18 during eighth period we got to know some of the band kids at Southeast Middle School.
We asked SEMS eighth grader Alexander Estrada, trombone player, his favorite part about his instrument. Alex replied, “When the rhythm goes high and gets to hear it go louder.”

Next, we also asked SEMS eighth grader Matthew Flores, who plays the baritone, what he was currently preparing for and he answered, “Just getting better at the instrument and improving everyday.”
Lastly, we interviewed SEMS seventh grader Sarahi Vargas, who plays the Snare Drum, asking her what she was preparing for during class. She answered, “We are currently preparing for some sort of music concert.”
An extra question we asked all band members was what their favorite part of the class was, Alexander answered, “That the class helps him express loud noises he may want to make through the sound of his trombone.”
Sarahi said, “I don’t really have a favorite part, I just love the class.”
Lastly Matthew answered,” My favorite part of band class is playing my instrument.”
