Ms. Sandoval who works with 7th graders last name M-Z likes to talk to students and has worked at Southeast Middle School since 2023. She became a counselor because in high school she had an amazing counselor so when thinking of what career path she wanted to take she thought of her high school counselor.
Ms. Gutierrez works with 7th graders with last names A-L. Her favorite thing to do is seeing students reach their goals and working with them weekly. She has wanted to be a counselor since senior year started working here at Southeast Middle School 2 years ago.
Ms. Hermida has been a counselor since 2009 but started working at Southeast Middle School since 2017. She works with 6th graders with last names A-L and likes to get to know the students from the beginning of middle school to the end. She used to work as a high school teacher but found herself giving out a lot of advice to her students and helping them frequently. She then decide it would be a better idea to switch to a counseling.
Ms. Hernandez works with 6th graders with last names M-Z. Her favorite thing to do as a counselor is going into classrooms and seeing what activities they’re doing, talking and bonding with them. She started working here in May 2023. The reason why she became a counselor is because during her high school years she had a great counselor that impacted her which inspired her.
Ms. Martinez who works with all grades likes when she connects to students and sees growth in them. She used to be a teacher’s assistant but students would go to her as a mini counselor for advice or help. She started working here in 2015.
Ms. Alvarado works with 8th graders with last names A-L. She states she likes to talk to students, help them with their daily and academic life. She became a counselor in 2006, she wasn’t planning on it but she says her college professor recommended it to her, and she ended up loving working with students.
